Slinger-ring with centrifugal seal for vehicular use

A slinger-ring (70) is positioned between a housing (38) and a rotating component. The ring consists of a first section which is secured to the rotating component, a second slinger-section extending radially outwards from the first, and an outer peripheral seal section (50) projecting axially from the slinger section. The seal-section extends radially outwards under the centrifugal force exerted by rotation, forming a secondary seal. The slinger-ring may be fabricated in a transparent polymer material to facilitate visual inspection of a primary seal behind the slinger-ring.
