<p>A liquid crystal display device in which high speed driving of data lines is realized by using a technique for simultaneously generating a plurality of pulses by using one shift register. The frequency of an output signal of a shift register can be increased without changing the frequency of the clock signal for operation of the shift register. High speed driving of the data line can be accomplished when the output signal of the shift register is used for determining the timing of sampling of image signals by an analog switch. When the output signal of the shift register is used for determining the latch timing of the image signals in a digital driver, high speed latch of the image signals can be accomplished. Consequently, even when a driving circuit of a liquid crystal display matrix is constituted by TFTs, the high speed operation of the driving circuit becomes possible without increasing power consumption. The shift register can be used for evaluating electrical characteristics of the data line or the analog switch.</p> |
