PURPOSE: To provide a sound output device which can mute the reproduced sounds from speakers and surround speakers with an inexpensive constitution at the time of inserting a headphone plug. CONSTITUTION: The headphone plug is inserted to a jack 13 to supply headphone signals SLHO and SRHO from connection terminals 13d and 13e. Since the terminal 13d is pressed and moved in the direction of an arrow A and the terminal 13e is pressed and moved in the direction of an arrow B, a terminal 13b is made conductive to a terminal 13a, and a terminal 13g is made conductive to a terminal 13h. Therefore, speaker signals SLO and SRO supplied to terminals 13c and 13f are not supplied to speakers 20 and 30 through terminals 13b and 13g, and reproduced sounds are muted. Since the base of a transistor TR 16 is grounded through speakers 20 and 30, TRs 16, 43, and 53 are turned on, and the input sides of amplifier parts 42 and 52 are grounded. Thus, surround signals SCO and SREO are not supplied to surround speakers 40 and 50, and reproduced sounds are muted. |
