The device has a vertically located receiving pocket (12) for the workpieces (2). It has one or more support surfaces which protrude into the pocket and lie in one plane. A free space is provided between the support surfaces and the side walls of the receiving pocket, and its height is dimensioned the same as, or greater than, the material thickness of one of the inserted workpieces.
