The central part of the piston (2,3) is made of stable material and is enclosed in a plastics surround sector. The piston itself is made of a plastics tube (40,41) round a pressure transfer element (42,43) as engaged by a re-set spring (20,21) within the piston. The transfer element can be sprayed direct into the plastics tube (40,41) and has a radial projections (44) and/or recesses forming the tube contact surfaces. A sealing element (48) between tube and transfer element is also sprayed direct into the tube (40,41) and the transfer element is coated on one side with a layer of plastics (48",49") forming one piece with the tube. The hollow space (34,35) of the piston is joined to the outside surface by transverse holes (26,27) and the piston end lying within the pressure space (22,23) has one or more radial projections (39) for force transfer between piston, transfer element and re-set spring.
