<p>A disc brake comprising at least one piston (14) sliding in a calliper (12) which is in turn slidable on a fixed support, said piston (14) being actuatable by a mechanical sub-assembly (22) including two substantially parallel plates (24, 26) of which the first plate (26) is rotatable by a lever (32) about an axis (X-X') perpendicular to the plate surface, whereas the second plate (24) is is non-rotatable and integral with the piston (14). The side of at least one of said plates (24, 26) is provided with inclined grooves receiving balls (28) for converting the rotational motion of the first plate (26) into axial translation of the second plate (24), the lever (32) is provided with a catch portion (34) engaging the end (36) of an actuating cable (38) having a sheath (40), and the sheath (40) of the cable (38) engages an abutment portion (42) of the sheath (40) which is stationary relative to the calliper (12). Said abutment portion (42) of the sheath (40) is formed on a spacer (44) whose angular position about axis (X-X') relative to the lever (32) is determined by the angular position at rest of the lever (32) relative to the calliper (12).</p> |
