The roof has an opening (2) with cover (3) and release levers (8). When the cover is closed, the release lever is prevented from executing a sideward movement at right angles to the guide rail (5), by a safety device (22) located on its outside. The safety device may consists of an inward projecting bead on the roof frame (4), or a bolt connected to the drive slide (7) and extends between lever and roof frame.
