The toothbrush has a handle part (1) which is curved and can be of a two-part construction joined by a screw connection (1a). At the distal end of the handle is a brush head part (3) which is also curved. The brush section of the brush head is quite small and contains only five or six bundles of bristles. The brush head is joined to the handle at a mounting surface (9) around which the brush head can rotate through 180 deg.. A pin (11) allows the brush head to be fixed and removed. The brush head can be locked in position by a ratchet mechanism at either extreme of its rotation.
