Farm machine for collecting large bales (10) of hay or straw, stacking them on a supporting surface and transporting them. The machine comprises a collecting ramp (100) at the front of the machine and a conveyor for individually inserting the bales (10) lengthwise into a main input station (105) on a supporting surface defined by rollers. A side pushing member (107) transfers every other bale to a secondary input station. In each of the stations, a lifting device (110) lifts the bale, puts it on pick-up members and moves back down to let in the next bale, whereafter it places the first bale on the next one and so on to form a stack. The two stacks (3) are then pushed backwards together. The bales remain positioned lengthwise and may easily be unloaded from the back or the sides of the machine. |
