Circuit for a DC-DC converter

A circuit arrangement for a pulse-width modulation (PWM) DC-DC converter based on a transformer (TR) and using two pulse-width modulators (PWM1, PWM2) which generate pulses having a width dependent on the load. One pulse-width modulator (PWM1) switches a d.c. voltage (Un) generated by the mains voltage onto the transformer (TR) primary, and the other (PWM2) switches a battery voltage (Ub) onto the transformer primary, with only one of the pulse-width modulators (PWM1, PWM2) operating at any given time. A monitor (UW) detects the presence of the mains-dependent d.c. voltage (Un).
