The wiper comprises an arm (18) pivoted to a drive head with a rotary/reciprocating shaft, and a lug (30) on the arm which interacts with the thrust surface (66) of a bracket (32) when the arm is at rest to limit the pressure of the wiper blade against the screen. The lug has an alignment projection (48) which is designed to engage with a tip (68) on the bracket to set the wiper arm in the precise position during assembly. The projection has two more or less perpendicular surfaces which engage with matching surfaces (74, 76) on the bracket to hold the blade off the screen. Both the lug and bracket are moulded from a plastics material. |
