<p>PURPOSE: To prevent exhaust gas from leaking in relative large axial direction displacement of both exhaust pipes while utilizing the advantage of a spherical bearing, and prevent abnormal noise from being generated at the time of collision simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: A flexible coupling 1 for a vehicle exhaust pipe is provided with a flange means 3 fixed on an exhaust pipe 2, a flange means 5 fixed on the exhaust pipe 4, an elastically expandable and contractible pipe 7 which is expandably and contractibly in an axial direction A, whose one end 6 is installed on the flange means 3 side, and which is cantilever supported, and a half spherical outer surface 8. And it is provided with a spherical bearing 11 which is installed on the other end 9 of the pipe 7, which is energized toward the flange means 5 by elastic force of the axial direction A of the pipe 7, and which is brought in slidably contact with a half spherical inner surface 10 whose half spherical outer surface 8 is formed on the flange means 5. And it is provided with an elastic means 12 for being elastically positioned the flange means 3 and 5 near to each other in the axial direction A, and for being elastically positioned the half spherical outer surface 8 and the half spherical inner surface 10 near to each other.</p> |
