<p>PURPOSE: To provide a large-sized waste gas treating tank furnished with a gas riser of novel structure. CONSTITUTION: This waste gas treating tank 50 contains a liq. absorbent, and the harmful matter in the waste gas is brought into contact with the absorbent and removed. The treating tank is succesively provided from the upper part with a waste gas outlet chamber 52, a waste gas inlet chamber 54, a spatial part 62 and the gas risers 80A, 80B and 80C piercing the waste gas inlet chamber, communicating with the waste gas outlet chamber through the spatial part and having a slender rectangular-sectioned hollow part and a waste gas dispersing cylinder 88 descending to the spatial part from the waste gas inlet chamber. A first partition plate 56 has a first strip-shaped opening 82 extending in the direction of the waste gas introduced into the waste gas inlet chamber from an introducing duct, and a second partition plate has a second strip-shaped opening 84 opposed to the first strip-shaped opening and many open holes 86 arranged in the region other than the second strip-shaped opening. The side wall of the hollow part of the gas riser is extended upward from the peripheral edge of the second strip-shaped opening to the peripheral edge of the opposed first strip-opening.</p> |
