EXPANSION JOINT WITH THERMAL TRANSITION CONNECTOR

A modified expansion joint (10) to provide a transition from one conduit (18) to an adjacent conduit (21). The expansion joint (10) includes a flexible coupling member (16) and an angled transition leg (11) having insulation on both sides thereof. The flexible coupling member (16) takes up any variations in dimensional differences between the adjacent conduits (18, 21). The transition leg (11) provides a gradual thermal transition from a hot upstream conduit (18) to a downstream conduit (21) at a lower exterior surface temperature.
