PURPOSE: To obtain a brake booster having no damage to diaphragms and no delay in response even if different pressure is introduced into two chambers defined by power pistons. CONSTITUTION: The outer peripheral ends 2c, 6c of diaphragms 2, 6 for constituting pistons 13, 18 are provided with convolution chambers 2d, 6d constantly communicating with the atmosphere and having a pair of convolution parts 2e, 2f, 6e, 6f. Brake actuation forms a pressure state, first, third chambers 15, 20 negative pressure < convolution chambers 2d, 6d atmosphere = second, fourth chambers 16, 21 (atmosphere). Thus, even if the power pistons 13, 18 move to the front (left), the convolution parts 2e, 2f, 6e, 6f roll to damage no diaphragms. On the other hand, even if the power pistons 13, 18 move to the rear (right) under a reverse pressure state, the convolution parts roll to damage no diaphragms. |
