PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biodegradable chewing gum giving a good chewing state by incorporating chewing gum components and a biodegradable polymer such as polyester as a gum base. SOLUTION: This chewing gum contains chewing gum components and a biodegradable polymer having about 37 deg.C glass transition temp. and contg. a chemically unstable compd. in the polymer chain as a gum base. The polymer is, e.g. polyester and/or polycarbonate of cyclic ester such as lactide, glycolide, trimethylene carbonate,γ-valerolactone,β-propiolactone andε-caprolactone.
