PURPOSE: To develop an electrogalvanized steel sheet excellent in the quality of appearance by plating the surface of a steel sheet with Ni, Co, Mo, Mg, Cr, Mn or the like by a vapor phase plating method and applying the surface with Zn by electroplating. CONSTITUTION: The surface of a cold rolled steel sheet is plated with one or more kinds among Ni, Mo, Mg, Co, Cr and Mn by 0.01 to 5g/m<2> coating weight by a vapor phase plating method such as a vacuum deposition method, an ion plating method, a sputtering method. Successively, the surface is plated with Zn by 10g/mm<2> coating weight by an electroplating method. Prior to the galvanizing, Ni, Mo, Mg, Co, Cr, Mn or the like are plated, by which the inferiority in the appearance of the galvanizing caused by micro-scale flaws and stains on the surface of the steel sheet can be improved.
