摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a cutting tool made of a high-strength and highly tough CBN base superhigh pressure sintered material, in which the proportion of CBN grains is specified and the remainder is formed of a combined phase. CONSTITUTION: A cutting tool is made of a combined phase, in which the proportion of CBN grains dispersedly distributed on a base is 40 to 65vol.%, and the remaining base has a frame-structure (skeleton structure). Further, the combined phase is made of a CBN base superhigh pressure sintered material having a composition composed of 5 to 15% reaction product phase comprising 5 to 18vol.% Al2 O3 , AlB2 , AlN, and TiB2 , and TiN inevitable impurity, the remainder, and a structure where the reaction product phases are dispersedly distributed i.n a mixed phase of Al2 O3 grain and TiN grain.
