FIBER AND NONWOVEN FABRIC USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To obtain fiber excellent esp. in spinnability as well as thermofusibility, and to produce a nonwoven fabric excellent in productivity as well as softness and touch feeling. CONSTITUTION: The objective fiber is obtained by melt spinning of an ethylene-α-olefin and/or nonconjugated diene copolymer having the following characteristics: (i) density (ρ): 910-960kg/m<3> ; (ii) melt index (MI): 20-100g/10min; (iii) the ratio of z-average molecular weight to weight-average molecular weight (Mz/Mw): <=2.4; and (iv) molecular weight distribution index (PDI): <=4.0. The nonwoven fabric is obtained by webbing the fibers.
