PURPOSE: To obtain an optical member having cured coating film good in scratch resistance and adhesion to lenses, etc., by applying a coating composition containing a specific organic Si compound (hydrolysate), a silicon compound and metal oxide colloidal particles on the substrate and subsequently curing the coating film. CONSTITUTION: A coating composition containing (A) an organic silicon compound of formula I (R<1> , R<3> are alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, acyl, halogen, glycidyl, epoxy, amino, phenyl, mercapto, methacryloxy, cyano; R<2> is 1-8C alkyl, alkoxy, acyl, phenyl; a, b, are 0, 1) or its hydrolysate, (B) a silicate compound of formula II (X, R<4> to R<7> are 1-4C organic group; Y is an epoxy group-containing functional group; C is an integer of 1-3; d is an integer of >=1), and (C) metal oxide colloidal particles is applied on an optical substrate and subsequently cured to obtain the optical member having the formed coating film excellent in scratch resistance and good in adhesion to plastic lenses, reflection-preventing films, etc. |
