<p>An air-bag arrangement in a motor vehicle includes an inflatable element (1) provided with anchoring tabs (2) to be connected to a non-linear housing extending across the door opening of the vehicle. The inflatable element incorporates a first chamber (6) formed of a plurality of discrete cells (7, 8, 9, 15, 16) which is made of a relatively porous fabric. The lower-most part of the inflatable element is formed of a second discrete elongate chamber (20), the length of which is adapted to reduce on inflation thereof, opposed ends of which are provided with anchoring means (24, 28) adapted to be connected to anchoring points on the vehicle. The second chamber (20) is made of a substantially imporous material and thus, when inflated, remains inflated for a substantial period of time.</p> |
