PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency of editing processing and the reliability of a printer by detecting an error in its early stages and shortening the time up to retry operation at the time of the generation of the error to increase a processing speed and relieving the data exceeding the max. number of data figures even if said data is formed. CONSTITUTION: An MS (magnetic stripe) read/write mechanism 4 and an MS read processing part 3 are provided and a data residual quantity checking processing part 10 checking whether the residual quantity of the MS data taken in from the MS read/write mechanism 4 becomes below the number of bits necessary for taking synchronism and an operation range altering processing part 11 are provided to the MS read processing part 3. The operation range altering processing part 11 has function cutting the data formed when the data exceeding the max. number of data figures is formed to the max. number of data figures and a check operation means performing the operational processing of a check code within the range of the data cut to the max. number of figures. |
