PURPOSE: To provide a novel peptide including a partial structure of mastoparan, thus shows an action to inhibit the activity of G protein and is useful in development of medicines for asthma, allergies and diseases in the central nervous system or the endocrinological system. CONSTITUTION: This novel peptide or its salt is represented by formula I (Xaa is an amino acid residue), formulas II-V, or formula VI, has an action to inhibit the GTPase activity of GTP-binding protein (Gprotein) and is useful in development of medicines for asthma, allergies, diseases in central nervous system and endocrinological system. This peptide is prepared by bindingα-amino group- protected amino acids in turns using p-methyl.benzhydrylamine resin as a solid- phase carrier according to the peptide solid-phase synthesis process in accordance with the amino acid sequence of a part of mastorapan which occurs in toxic gland of digger wasp (Vespa japonica), cleaving the peptide from the resin, removing the protecting groups and purifying it through chromatography. |
