HONEYCOMB PANEL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To suppress the local degradation in strength due to the defect of a honeycomb panel by inserting reinforcing materials for closing the holes penetrating surface plates into the plural cell parts of a core and welding both ends of these reinforcing materials to the surface plates. CONSTITUTION: The defective parts of the brazed aluminum honeycomb panel 1 are detected visually or by nondestructive inspection and the cells 5 to be provided with the reinforcing materials 7 are determined by taking the area of the defective parts and the magnitude of the load to be acted into consideration. The surface plate 2a is bored with the hole 21 to be inserted with the reinforcing material 7 and the surface plate 2b is bored with the hole 22 for welding the end of the reinforcing material 7. The hole 21 is larger in diameter than the hole 22 and is borable from the one side. The reinforcing material 7 formed by cutting an aluminum round bar is inserted from the hole 21 into the cell 5. The surface plate 2a and a flange 7 are subjected to butt welding 8 and the surface plate 2b and a flange 7b are subjected to hole filling welding 8b. Local repair is easily made in such a manner in case the defect arises in the honeycomb panel 1.
