PURPOSE: To obtain a breast cancer-inhibiting composition containing high amylose starch(HAS) as an active ingredient, and capable of preventing and treating the crisis of the breast cancer. CONSTITUTION: The breast cancer-inhibiting composition as a food composition contains as an active ingredient 10-50wt.%, preferably 20-40wt.%, of the HAS (e.g. hybrid corn) which is a starch containing 40-90wt.% of amylose and 25-40wt.% of slightly digestible components measured by a total dietary fiber- determining method, and further contains other additives such as saccharide, lipid, protein, vitamins, and minerals. The composition can be prepared in the from of foods such as snack confections, block confections, wafers, milk products, miso (salted and fermented soybeans) or in the form of healthy foods such as tablets, syrups, granules or powder. The composition is continuously taken at a dose of 10-70g/day for an adult. The HAS can massively and continuously be taken, because the texture, taste and color of the HAS are better than those of conventional dietary fibers. |
