PURPOSE: To easily obtain in large quantities the subject compound including taxol useful as a medicine for ovary cancer, breast cancer, etc., by treating a taxane-type diterpene-productive plant, before or after its harvest, with a taxane-type diterpene production promoter. CONSTITUTION: This compound is obtained by (A) treating a taxane-type diterpene-productive plant either grown naturally or cultivated (pref. Taxus baccata LINN) with a taxane-type diterpene production promoter, a jasmone compound of formula I (R<1a> , R<1b> , R<1c> , R<1d> , R<1e> and R<1f> are each H, OH, a 1-6C alkyl, etc.; R<2> , R<3> , R<4> , R<5> and R<6a> are each H or a 1-6C alkyl; R<6b> is OH, etc.; R<7> is OH, etc.; (n) is an integer of 1-7) (e.g. a compound of formula II), and after a lapse of specified period, harvesting part or the whole of the treated plant followed by extraction from the harvest and then purification; or (B) harvesting part or the whole of the above plant followed by treating it with the above promoter, and after storage for a specified period, by extraction from the treated harvest and then purification. |
