PURPOSE: To effectively remove NOx over a wide temp. region by disposing a 1st catalyst obtd. by carrying a silver compd. on a porous inorg. oxide, a 2nd catalyst obtd. by carrying copper oxide on the porous inorg. oxide and a 3rd catalyst obtd. by carrying a specified metallic compd. on the same inorganic oxide in a specified manner. CONSTITUTION: This exhaust gas purification material has a 1st catalyst obtd. by carrying 0.2-15wt.% silver and/or silver compd. or mixture of them, etc., on a porous inorg. oxide, a 2nd catalyst obtd. by carrying 0.2-30wt.% copper oxide and/or copper sulfate on the same oxide and a 3rd catalyst obtd. by carrying 0.2-10wt.% oxide or sulfate of at least one kind of element selected from among W, V, Mo, Nb and Ta and 0.01-5wt.% at least one kind of element selected from among Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ir and Au on the same oxide. When these catalyst are arranged in an exhaust gas duct, the 1st catalyst is disposed on the exhaust gas inflow side and a mixed catalyst prepd. by mixing the 2nd and 3rd catalysts is disposed on the exhaust gas outflow side. |
