<p>PURPOSE: To provide a new compound having excellent leukotriene antagonistic action and useful as a leukotriene antagonistic agent, preventing and treating agent for asthma and a preventing and treating agent for allergy. CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are each H or a lower alkyl; R<3> is H, a lower alkyl, OH, etc.; R<4> is H, a lower alkyl or an aralkyl ; R<5> is a lower alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl or an aralkyl; A is a lower alkylene, S or O), e.g. methyl-2,2-diethyl-3-[4-[[5-(n- propyloxycarbonylamino)-1-methylindol-3-yl-]methyl]-3- methoxybenzoyl]aminopropionate. The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a carboxylic acid compound of formula II (R<7> is H or a COOH- protecting group) with a compound of formula III (R<6> is a COOH-protecting group), reducing the nitro group of the compound of formula II and hydrolyzing the obtained ester compound.</p> |
