<p>PURPOSE: To provide biological treatment and device therefor without causing a nonuniform distribution of the carrier concn. in an aeration tank and without the carrier being deposited on the bottom of the aeration tank. CONSTITUTION: This biological treating device is provided with the aeration tank 1 having a raw water inlet 2, a return sludge feed pipe 9, a waste water outlet pipe 3 and an aerating means 5 and wherein activated sludge and a carrier 6 to which a microorganism is stuck are suspended by the aerating means 5. A pipe or plate 7 inclined downward in the flow direction is set in multiple stages on the vertical section in the flow direction in the tank 1 to float and separate the carrier 6, and the sp.gr. of the carrier 6 is preferably controlled to 0.8 to 1.0.</p> |
