<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the refined aluminum having reduced impurity concentration from aluminum scrap utilizing solidification by segregation. CONSTITUTION: After the intermetallic compound 1, which is crystallized as a primary crystal is settled/separated at furnace bottom, by melting the aluminum alloy having a composition, in which part of impurities is crystallized as a primary crystal of intermetallic compound and by cooling the alloy in a temp. range of 680-600 deg.C for 0.1-8hr in a holding furnace or refining furnace, a temp. of a molten metal M is further decreased, by cooling the rotary cooling body 30 immersed in molten metal with a cooling medium (g) in the temp. range of molten metal of 600-570 deg.C,α-Al crystal is crystallized/grown on the surface of rotary cooling body 30. By this method, the intermetallic compound 1 is not taken in the solidified body made ofα-Al crystal, the refined aluminum having low Fe, Mn concentration is obtained.</p> |
