An intracavitary echographic imaging catheter including a proximal end (10) located outside the patient, a distal end (12) adjacent to the tissue to be examined, and a body (14) linking the two ends. The distal end (12) includes a guide wire (27) and an ultrasound-transparent capsule (26) housing a fixed piezoelectric transducer (28) and an ultrasonic wave-deflecting mirror (30) driven by a rotating means (32) in said capsule. The catheter is characterised in that the mirror (30) is arranged directly on the surface of the rotor (34) of a microactuator forming said rotating means (32), such that no torque transmission shaft (38) is required.
