The lamp unit (10) has a base (17) supporting the components of the lamp unit, and a cover (21) forming the outer face of the lamp assembly. The cover can be fixed to the base, and the assembly fitted in a housing (12) in the bodywork of the vehicle. The lamp unit is fixed in place by a clip (24) fixed to the inside of the housing and engaging the end (16) of the base of the lamp unit, and at the other end of the base by a screw (22). The lamp unit is first positioned in the clip, then swung inward and pressed down onto the seal then locked in place with the screw. A spring (26) acts on the clip to swing the lamp unit outward when the screw is released, to allow it to be handled easily during removal. |
