The control sieve has a sieve body (1), a batten (2) which is mounted on the body lower part, and a separating element (3). The three parts are assembled by welding without using any supplementary pieces. The separating element is assembled on the batten and then placed on a lower electrode (5). A separating element support (6), made from electrically insulated material, is placed inside the batten. The separator is placed on the support and a metal retaining disc (7), of dia. less than the batten dia., is placed on the separator. An upper electrode (8) is placed. The resistance welding cycle starts to provide an overlapping weld. Once the welding cycle is finished the batten is taken from the welding mounting.
