PURPOSE: A vehicle navigation system having a path guiding device at a path of a similar advancing direction and a path guiding method thereof are provided to improve the navigation and path guiding performance by providing connected path attributes inserted as a map data by changing a determination condition of the path guiding CONSTITUTION: A vehicle navigation system having a path guiding device at a path of a similar advancing direction includes a display part(100) for displaying a travelling path and a current position of a vehicle according to a display control signal and displaying an input guiding direction of a path, a voice guiding part(200) for outputting the guiding direction of the path simultaneously with the display part, a RAM(300) for storing and transmitting data generated in the process of operation, a ROM(400) for storing and transmitting programs required for the operation, a gyro direction sensor(500) for detecting and outputting a displacement angle of the vehicle, a speed sensor(600) for sensing a speed of the vehicle to output a speed data, a GPS(global positioning system) receiver(700) for transmitting coordinates and visual data input of a GPS satellite, a navigation system part(800) for controlling operation of the whole system, outputting a display control signal for displaying a map data after reading the stored map data, and performing the control for the path guiding, and a map CD-ROM(900) storing map data to transmit the data to the display part according to a control signal of the navigation system part and providing data of connected paths for the path guiding.
