METHOD FOR MEASURING BLANK TIME BETWEEN SONGS OF TAPE IN AUDIO SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for measuring a blank time between songs of a tape in an audio system is provided to exactly perform an AMS(Auto Music Search), a scanning and a repetition by exactly measuring the blank time. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer(200) checks a "playback" state of an inserted tape in a tape deck(100). In the "playback" state, the microcomputer calculates a sum of a square of both repulse widths at a playback with both repulse width data from the tape deck. The microcomputer discriminates a kind of the tape with the sum. The microcomputer checks a "FF/REW" state of the tape. In the "FF/REW" state, the microcomputer calculates a sum of a square of both repulse widths at a "FF/REW". The microcomputer calculates a present velocity of the tape with the sums. The microcomputer calculates a blank time between songs of the tape with the present velocity. The microcomputer performs variable functions with the blank time.
