A switch device having a structure that prevents a compression coil spring from falling during its assembly process. A substantially circular columnar guide (12) is formed on the bottom surface (5) of a body (2) of a push lock switch (1). A plurality of ribs (13) are protruding on the side surface of the guide (12). Each rib (13) is shaped into a pyramid, and the diameter (R1) of a circle (S) passing through its apex is greater than the inner diameter (R2) of the compression coil spring (6), and its height corresponds to a densely wound portion (7) of the compression coil spring (6). This portion (7) is fitted under the state where its diameter is expanded by a slope formed at the upper end of each rib (13) and its diameter is reduced by flexibility. The distal end of the rib (13) is crushed and one end of the compression coil spring (6) is fixed to the body (2).
