PURPOSE: An intranet based electronic commerce system and a method for operating thereof are provided so that members in a community using an inter-community intranet can conveniently do shopping on line, without exposing their private information, by setting a customized shopping mall in an intranet based closed space so as to achieve interoffice intranet based electronic commerce. CONSTITUTION: An operating server(40a) of an electronic commerce operating system providing goods information to users through a community server(30a) on line is comprised of a goods information management module(40a-1), a purchaser authentication module(40a-2), a purchase details information management module(40a-4), a settlement details information management module(40a-5), a manager authentication module(40a-6) and a control module(40a-3). The goods information management module(40a-1) stores new goods information in a goods information DB(40b-1). The purchaser authentication module(40a-2) acquires authentication for user private information necessary for purchase confirmation from a member information management module of a community server(30a). The purchase details information management module(40a-4) stores the details of purchased goods in a purchase details information DB(40B-2). The settlement details information management module(40a-5) stores the settlement details of purchased goods in a settlement details information DB(40b-3). The manager authentication module(40a-6) makes a user inquire out purchase details through manager authentication process using a manage mode. The control module(40a-3) controls each of the modules.
