<p>A system for indicating both that the acceptable wear limit of drum brake linings has been reached in any kind of vehicle, and what the lining temperature level is. The system is particularly useful in commercial vehicles such as lorries, buses, vans or trailers, and even in private cars. The system consists of a rivet (1) surrounded by electrical insulation (2, 3) and positioned in a standard bore (16) provided for riveting drum brake linings (7). The rivet is connected via a copper washer (4) and electric wires (18) to a receiving housing (19, 9) provided with display means (10, 21, 22). The system further consists of a temperature sensor (17) connected via electric wires (18) to said receiving housing (19, 9).</p> |
