A process for adjusting the feed (P) of a needling machine comprising the following stages: prior acquisition of characteristic data on the implantation of the needles (100) on the support media (11) and operating parameters for the needling machine; setting a reference variable for the feed selected for the operation of this needling machine; setting an optimum feed corresponding to a relative optimization of a local criterion of uniformity closest to the feed reference variable; and regulation of the impact frequency of the needling machine corresponding to the optimum feed. Use in the manufacture of non-woven products.
