Process and device for filtration in air purification devices

Process and interchangeable filter module device for the filtration and regeneration of soot particles which arise in the burning off of analysis samples, esp. in laboratories. The exhaust gas to be cleaned flows into at least one filter module (3) open at the inlet in the suction direction (16), and closed at the outlet. There is high temp. resistant fibrous filter material (14) in the filter module, which pref. contains Al2O3, SiO2 and ZrO2 and also a smaller amt. of B2O3. The filter material has a catalyst on its surface from the gp.: oxidn. catalyst for carbon monoxide or carbohydrate removal, and a redn. catalyst to remove NOx. The exhaust gas is sucked through at least one area by an exhaust fan (7) and flows out (8) after cleaning. The combustion flame is sucked directly into the inlet opening (16) by the fan (7). The thermal energy from the combustion is enough to regenerate the filter module. The filter material is pref. pre-treated with a soln. to reduce the soot combustion temp. below 600 deg C
