The invention relates to a combination of a drainoff/wipe- off accessory, which is intended to be placed on (over) the edge of a paint can from which the lid has been removed, and a paintbrush, which comprises a brush body and an adjoining handle, which accessory has a topedge part with an adjoining inner circumferential wall which extends downwards and (radially) inwards and ends in a wipe-off edge which delimits an opening; at least one resting place for (the handle of) the paintbrush to be placed on is formed in the top-edge part. According to the invention, that part of the handle which adjoins the brush body, on the one hand, and its resting place, on the other hand, are formed in such a manner with respect to one another that the brush which is held in the resting place by means of this handle section is prevented from tilting in the vertical plane and/or being lifted vertically out of the resting place. <IMAGE>
