Low throughput control valve

A low throughput control valve, with a valve seat insert, has (a) a valve housing (3) with fluid inlet and outlet openings (4,5) (b) a valve body (16) positioned between the openings (4,5) in the housing to control fluid throughput; (c) a deformable sealing element (14), pref. of PTFE, located between the valve body (16) and the outlet opening (5); (d) a pre-tensioning device for deforming the sealing element (14) about the valve body only when the valve body assumes a nearly closed valve position to prevent fluid passing the valve body; (e) a valve cover (23) fitted on the valve housing (3); and (f) an operating device (29) which moves about the valve body (16).
