<p>A reversible thermal recording material which enables images to be formed with a high contrast and erased and can store images having stability even after the lapse of time under the conditions of daily life. The material comprises a substrate having thereon a dye precursor which is usually colorless or light-colored, and a reversible developer capable of causing a reversible change in color tone of the dye precursor by taking advantage of a cooling rate difference after heating, and is characterized by further comprising at least one particular color disappearance promoter containing a long-chain alkyl group. Further provided is a reversible thermal recording material which enables images to be erased by a simple method, such as by allowing the recording material to stand in a natural environment or drying the recording material with a dryer. This material is characterized in that a specified compound containing a long-chain alkyl group and an imide group is used as a reversible developer in combination with a particular amine compound containing a long-chain alkyl group or an imide compound as a color disappearance promoter.</p> |
