Vehicle roof with front and rear longitudinally adjustable covers

The roof has an opening (4) which can be closed by front (2) and rear (3) covering panels, whose positions can be adjusted longitudinally. When the panels are in their maximum opening position, the rear panel is at least partly under a rear roof region (23), and is at least partly covered by the front panel. The rear of the front panel has a laterally projecting element (20), which can slide in a guide (21) on the vehicle. The front edge of the rear panel can be lowered from its closed position, into a ventilating position. The rear edge of the front panel can be adjusted into a ventilating position by a lever (5), which can be uncoupled from the panel in this position. The slide engages in the guide when the lever is uncoupled, and is disengaged from it when the lever is coupled to the panel again.
