Process for the purification of inert gases recycled from reactors for solid state polycondensation of polyester resins

Purification of the recycled inert gas stream coming from a reactor for the solid state polycondensation/polyaddition of polyester resins, wherein the stream added with air is passed over a bed of a Pt or Pt and Pd mixture, supported catalyst and the quantity of oxygen used is such that at the exit of the catalyst bed, the concentration is from 10 to 250 ppm in excess on the stoichiometric amount referred to the organic impurities present.
