The invention relates to a lining element comprising a body (10), insulation, and sections (13, 14) running along the side edges of the element whereby the element can be attached to the base to be lined and whereby adjacent lining elements are attached to each other. According to the invention the body (10) comprises a perforated support plate (15) which has an area corresponding to that of the element and which at the side edges of the element is in contact with the side sections (13, 14). An insulating layer (11, 12), preferably mineral wool saturated with phenolic resin, is attached to both sides of the support plate (15).
