a cylindrical compensating member installed in a neck of the deflection yoke; and a compensating coil wound on the compensating member, where the compensating member is composed of a steel piece and a ferrite core. The compensator reduces loss of current using magnetic field of the compensating coil and provides a convenient adjustment of misconvergence compensator by searching optimal condition of the adjustment since the field of this apparatus does not depend on morphology of the compensating member.
