Hydraulically working insert element for IC engine valve gear rocker lever

The insert element (1) has a cylindrical housing (2), whose outer jacket (3) is fitted into an end side bore of the rocker lever, while its bottom (4) faces an end of a valve shaft. In a housing bore (5), facing the cam, is guided a piston (6) with a central oil chamber (7), whose one front face (10) is engaged by at least one compression spring (9). The spring other end abuts the inside (8) of the housing bottom and extends in a high pressure chamber (11) bounded axially by the bottom inside and the piston front face. Another piston front face (22) abuts the base of the rocker lever bore. The housing bore has a dia. enlargement (14) from the bore edge (13) over one third of the piston enclosing face.
