A film feeding mechanism, provided in a camera, has a cartridge holder inside which a film cartridge (30) housing a length of film (31) in is set; an aperture (35) for defining an exposure field on the film (31); a magnetic head (32) for writing/reading the photographing information; a take-up spool (25) around which the film (31) fed from the film cartridge (30) is wound; and a drive motor (1) for feeding the film (31) between the film cartridge (30) and the take-up spool (25). Both the take-up spool (25) and the magnetic head (32) are installed on one side of the aperture (35), and both the cartridge holder and the drive motor (1) are installed on the other side, opposite to the one side in view of the film feeding direction, of the aperture (35). The drive motor (1) is mounted opposite to the aperture (35) relative to the cartridge holder; therefore, a greater distance is secured between the magnetic head (32) and the motor (1). <IMAGE> |
