The gas regulating valve (1) has a valve seating (6) and a relatively movable valve disc (7) upon which a spring (17) acts connected to an adjustment (16). The temperature of the gas flowing through the gas regulating valve affects the position of the gas regulating valve so that any change in the gas temperature produces a change in the effective throttle cross-section which is obtained by the distance between the valve disc and seating. A higher gas temperature enlarges the cross-section. A coupling (18) containing a bimetallic element (20) acting upon the valve disc is positioned in the gas current inside the gas regulating valve.
